Requirements
Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Senior Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) specializing in Case Finding and Abstraction. The primary responsibilities include identifying and collecting cancer cases from medical facilities, abstracting and coding data, and ensuring compliance with cancer registry standards. The individual will perform thorough case reviews, collaborate with team members, and accurately maintain documentation according to regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and healthcare providers
Advanced analytical skills with a focus on accurately interpreting medical records and coding data
Experience in case management and familiarity with cancer registry operations
Customer service skills to provide support and build confidence with clients
Certification in Cancer Registry (ODS) is strongly preferred
Proficiency with cancer registry databases and software applications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or related field is advantageous
