Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College has an anticipated position:  Chief Institutional Advancement Officer serving multiple locations. Responsible for the overall leadership and management to the institution's promotion and fundraising activities.  

 Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the Advancement functional area consistent with the mission of the college in cooperation with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and senior college officers.
  • Guide functional area strategic and annual planning activities based on the college strategic plan including developing and accessing annual unit plans within the functional area.
  • Establishes and implements short and long-range resource development strategies, goals, objectives, and strategic planning in conjunction with the President and the leadership team.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor an annual budget related to the goals and operational needs of the Advancement functional area.  Monitors performance monthly and maintains an on-going forecast for year-end projections.
  • Proactively ensures that the college develops strong long-term relations with large scale individual, foundation, and corporate donors/funders.  Personally, builds and maintains key relations to ensure fund development strategy is achieved.
  • Directly responsible for grant writing and review of all other submissions written by college employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Kentucky Community and Technical College System and college policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong community relationships by contacts with elected officials, agencies, organizations, institutions, the media and community groups, partner agencies, and businesses.
  • Participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in college and system organizational development activities including service on college or system committees or involvement in other initiatives as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain information network with colleagues and counterparts in the system and in higher education.
  • Participate with the president and all college functional areas including Academic Services, Human Resources, Finance and Facilities, and Student Development in planning overall college operations and initiatives.
  • Other duties assigned by the President.

This is a 12-month defined term contract position.  

Overview

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College is a comprehensive two-year, one of 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.  The college servers approximately 5000 students on five full-service campuses in Cumberland, Harlan, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Whitesburg. The college has received a 5-year Title III grant (beginning year two) to increase the capacity and develop a comprehensive advancement program. Vice President serves as Executive Director of the Southeast Education Foundation.

Requirements

Minimum Education/Experience (Certificates, Licenses, Registration)

Master’s degree in higher education administration, public relations, resource development or related field, plus five years related experience, or equivalent.
