Organization: Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)

Position: Director, Practice Guidance & Health Equity (Infection Preventionist with CIC® Certification)

Reports To: Executive Director, Center for Research, Practice, and Innovation

Location: Remote

Come join the organization dedicated and committed to becoming one of the best places to work!  The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the leading professional association for infection preventionists, is seeking a remote Director of Practice Guidance & Health Equity (Infection Preventionist with CIC® certification) to oversee the practice guidance (PG) and health equity (HE) functions of the Center for Research, Practice, and Innovation (CRPI) and serve as a subject matter expert in the field of infection prevention and control (IPC) and epidemiology.

As the Director of Practice Guidance and Health Equity, you will be responsible for providing accurate and complete guidance regarding infection prevention practice to APIC members and staff.  You will assess new and existing evidence as well as the current IPC landscape and climate to determine when and where additional practice guidance support is needed.  You will work to build organizational knowledge regarding the impact and determinants of health equity within the field of IP, with a longer-term goal of building resources to aid IPs in understanding and improving health equity.  This position reports to the Executive Director of the CRPI and provides direct support for both the Practice Guidance and Health Equity committees.

Qualified candidates offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree or higher preferred

  • 10 years of experience working in infection prevention in a healthcare setting

  • Progressive leadership experience

  • CIC® certification

  • Demonstrated experience with research and analysis

  • Understanding of adult learning principles & communities of practice in diverse healthcare settings
